Summer is upon us! Hooray!
With summer looming, it's a great time to pay more attention to your hair needs. I'm sure there are many lake and beach trips in your future. So here are 5 tips for good, healthy summer hair.
1. Avoid Excess Heat (here's to looking at you, blow drier)
Summer weather can be hard on your hair so it's important to pay extra attention to using a good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. If possible let those locks dry naturally to give them a break from the blow dryer. With all the natural heat from being outside more, your hair will thank you!
2. Braid it up and get out there
For easy outdoor styles, try a fun braid or braids. I personally love baby braids around the face. Or a loose side braid is always fun too.
3. Say no to green chlorine hair
If you're swimming in a pool be sure to get your hair wet first and use a leave in conditioner before putting that cap on, and of course rinse well after your swim.
4. Hats off to you!
Hats are a great way to protect your hair from the harsh rays. Also, remember to apply sunscreen to your scalp where your hair parts if you don't feel like wearing a hat. Scalps are very sensitive and can burn easily. And we all know what happens next- pealing and flaking.
5. Change it up
If you need a new look, try a new cute Bob cut with soft layers or a cute pixie, wash finger dry with a little mousse and you're good to go.
